In each dimension, this is how calculations will take place:

Consolidations will be performed as per Member Properties, including formulas and rollups for the level zero members of the dimension being calculated.

Calculation then continues from bottom up by default to Level 1 members, and so on up the hierarchy.

Finally, we set up our CalcDB calculation as the Basic database's Default database.

Only use SET CALCPARELLEL if the ratio of Empty tasks, as specified in the application log (to the Calculation Task scheduled, in the ESSCMD or MaxL script screen) is less than 50 %. A high ratio of empty tasks means that parallelism may not improve performance. There are cases where the use of CALCPARELLEL slows down calculations as the calculation is meant to work in serial.
